Must have Shot List – Top 40 Wedding Images

Ok so there is 42, not 40, but never mind that. Earlier today I was thinking about all the crazy wedding image requests that come along with each wedding season. For various reason those are not listed, but I thought it would be helpful for my clients, as well as other brides to provide a list of “must have images”. I’m sure I am missing a few must have wedding shots, but overall its a pretty complete, and not necessarily in numeric order.

1 Early morning, coffee in hand and ready to go, Day starts off with hair and make-up shots.
2 Details, details, details.
3 Close-up shot of brides shoes, bouquet, earrings, necklace wedding rings.
4 Dress shot / details, putting on dress / zipping up dress.
5 Mom or maid-of-honor helping bride with put on necklace, shoes.
6 Bride and bridesmaids waiting before the ceremony.
7 Bride by herself.
8 Groom getting ready, shaving, brushing teeth, getting dressed, putting on tie, suit, tux.
9 Groom by himself.
10 Groom Hanging out with the guys before the ceremony.
11 Church details. stained glass windows, alter, church interior before the guests arrive.
12 Bride and father, just before they walk down the isle.
13 Groom’s expression as the bride nears the alter.
14 Brides expression as she walks down isle with her father.
15 Bride being given away.
16 Bride and groom standing at the alter.
17 Close up of immediate family during the ceremony, faces, expressions, tears, joy
18 bridal party close ups.
19 Close-up of the Flower girl and ring bear.
20 Musicians.
21 Speakers.
22 Ring exchange.
23 Candle lighting.
24 Kiss.
25 Bride and Groom coming up the isle.
26 Leaving the church, bubbles, flower petals, birdseed. ect.
27 Bride and groom leaving the church – limo shot / getaway car.
28 Traditional portraits, wedding party. immediate family, relatives and quests – varies by family.
29 Candid / journalistic portraits of bride and groom alone – outdoors if possible.
30 Reception details – invitations, cake, favors, centerpieces, flowers, gifts.
31 Wedding party waiting to be announced.
32 Bride and groom entering the reception hall.
33 First dance.
34 Father / Daughter dance.

36 Band / musicians playing.
37 Guest dancing
38 Best man’s toast , maid of honor toast.
